Overview
This presentation will introduce you to Kupris.
- Kupris is a software product for Microsoft Windows™.
- It makes printing from Microsoft Word™ simpler.

The Issue
Printing a document can be very complicated, involving:
- Multiple copies
- Different paper types
- Watermarks
- Different printers
- Advanced features such as colour, stapling and hole punching
Complexity means a greater chance of errors and wasted time. By reducing complexity Kupris pays for itself, on average, in less than 2 months.

The Status Quo
Suppose you need to print a letter to a client - a first copy with letterhead paper for the first page and continuation paper for the others, 2 copies on plain paper with a "File Copy" watermark and duplexed (long edge), another copy on blue paper with a "Credit Control" watermark, 2 copies for accounts on yellow paper with watermark and a green "Transfer" watermarked copy. Arghhhhh!

Paper Selection without Kupris
- First of all you must know which type of paper is in which tray for your chosen printer.
- Then you must go to File > Page Setup and set the trays for the first and other pages of the document.
- Now you have to repeat these steps for each different copy you need.
This is a boring and repetitive task, error-prone and a potential waste of time and resources.

Watermarks without Kupris
Although the latest version of Word™ incorporates a watermark feature, how
many people actually know where it is? You could use Wordart or a picture.
This is time-consuming and produces inconsistent results.

For each copy you have to choose the right printer and know that is has the correct paper and features.

Kupris
- Kupris has been designed to simplify this process and eliminate errors and waste.
- Print jobs are defined as presets.
- To print, staff just select the correct preset and all the details are dealt
with automatically.

Print Modes and Copy Batches
Print Modes are presets for print jobs. A Print Mode consists of one or more Copy Batches. For example, print four copies:
- One on cheap paper
- One on posh paper for the client (first page letterhead, other pages on continuation).
- Two copies on yellow paper with an "Accounts" watermark for the accounts department.
Each bullet point above is an example of a Copy Batch.

Printers
- Kupris automatically finds installed printers and can install printers available on the network as and when they are required.
- Kupris intelligently routes Copy Batches to a printer with the necessary paper types and features. It also allows each member of staff prioritise printers. This allows Kupris to choose the closest capable printer to the user.

Watermarks
Each Copy Batch can be assigned a watermark if required. Kupris also includes a rich visual watermark creator and editor.

Advanced Features
- Kupris comes with duplexing and colour Features included. These can be defined for each Copy Batch, and assigned to individual printers.
- Extra Features such as stapling and hole punching can easily be added.

Features
- To add a new Feature just choose a name, such as "Stapling".
- Then add the relevant Options, for example "None", "Top Left" and "Double". The new feature can now be set for any Copy Batch.

Feature Support
A Feature can be enabled for a printer if that printer can support it.
This allows Kupris to route a print job to a suitable printer based on what
is being requested.

Feature Key Strings
- Kupris Features work with ANY type of printer.
- The administrator must "teach" Kupris how to set each Feature Option.
- In this way Kupris can control any printer.
